Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican descent, has announced her participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant.
This follows her decision to withdraw from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest due to scrutiny over her nationality.
Adetshina, who had made it to the Top 11 Finalists in the South African pageant, stepped down after allegations from the South African Department of Home Affairs that her mother may have been involved in fraud and identity theft.
In a recent video, Adetshina confirmed that she has accepted the invitation to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant.
“I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant… I am looking forward to participating in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant – Miss Universe Nigeria,” she said.
