Getafe secured a hard-fought point in their opening La Liga match against Athletic Club, thanks to a stellar performance from their new signing, Chrisantus Uche.
The 21-year-old Nigerian midfielder made an immediate impact on his debut, finding the back of the net in the 64th minute to level the score at 1-1.
Athletic Club started the match strongly, with Oihan Sancet opening the scoring in the 27th minute, giving the home side an early lead.
However, Getafe remained resilient, and Uche’s moment of brilliance came in the second half when he calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to bring his team back into the game.
Uche joined Getafe from third-tier club AD Ceuta, where he made 36 appearances last season. His debut performance in Spain’s top flight has already sparked excitement among Getafe fans, who will be eager to see more from the young talent as the season progresses.
