The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.37 per cent appreciation on Thursday, August 15, influenced by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc and Nipco Plc.
This increased the market capitalisation of the unlisted securities exchange by N7.51 billion to N2.029 trillion from the N2.021 trillion it closed in the preceding session, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 5.49 points to wrap the session at 1,481.00 points compared with 1,475.51 points recorded in the previous session.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria improved during the session by N4.04 to sell at N50.00 per unit, in contrast to the previous day’s N45.96 per unit, and Aradel Holdings gained N5.72 to end the session at N72.00 per share compared with Wednesday’s closing price of N66.28 per share.
However, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc depreciated at the trading day by 29 Kobo to settle at N18.90 per unit versus the midweek’s value of N18.61 per unit.
Yesterday, the volume of shares traded by investors significantly went down by 99.7 per cent to 165,934 units from the 62.5 million units made a day earlier, the value of securities traded at the session fell by 90.6 per cent to N113.5 million from the N1.2 billion recorded in the preceding session, and the number of deals increased by 20 per cent to 42 deals from the 35 deals carried out on Wednesday.
Afriland Properties Plc was the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 292.8 million units for N5.2 billion, followed by Capital Hotels Plc with 259.6 million valued at N1.3 billion, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc with the sale of 218.8 million units worth N46.1 million.
Aradel Holdings Plc finished the session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 9.6 million units worth N31.6 billion, trailed by Afriland Properties Plc with 292.8 million units sold for N5.2 billion, and CSCS Plc with 105.8 million units valued at N2.5 billion.
