Our policies will soon bring relief to Nigerians – Tinubu

PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that his administration has been making tough decisions with the goal of improving life for Nigerians, and he assured that these policies will soon bring relief.

The President also committed to upholding the rule of law, respecting the principles of separation of powers, and allowing dissenting opinions within the legal framework of the country.

Tinubu made these remarks yesterday while opening the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, he acknowledged the NBA’s long history of advocating for democratic values and the rule of law.

“I want to assure you all that this administration will continue to uphold the rule of law, respect the principles of separation of powers, and tolerate dissent within the limits of the law,” he stated.

He emphasized that while the difficult decisions being made now are necessary to change past practices, they will eventually lead to relief for Nigerians.

President Tinubu further noted, “While I recognize the temporary challenges we face as a nation, I urge you not to adopt a defeatist mindset but to remain committed to building the Nigeria we aspire to create.

“It is clear that Nigeria cannot continue on the path of the past if we are to achieve sustainable development. Therefore, it is essential to cleanse the system and set a proper course for rebuilding the nation.

“I understand that changing the status quo requires difficult decisions and that these changes come with tough consequences. However, I am confident that this is a temporary phase, and our administration’s policies and actions will soon bring relief.”
