Pension fraudsters won’t go unpublished – EFCC vows

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has vowed to invoke all necessary and relevant laws to tackle pension fraud without hindrance.

This is contained in a statement by the Commission’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to the statement, Uyo Zonal Director and Assistant Commander of the EFCC, Oshodi Johnson made this commitment when the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Akwa Ibom Chapter, visited the Command.

Johnson stressed that senior citizens who have served the nation deserve better treatment.

“The EFCC will utilise all necessary laws to identify and prosecute individuals perpetuating pension fraud.

“We are here to assist you and respond promptly to any pension scam or fraud complaints, “Johnson assured.

Obong Cosmos Essien, State Secretary of the Union, commended the EFCC for its sustained fight against pension-related frauds.

“We appreciate your efforts and encourage you to continue fighting while we pray for you,” Essien said.

Chairman of the Union, Obong Ekpeyong Ekpo, urged Uyo Command staff to persist in tackling economic and financial crimes, emphasising that hard work would be rewarded.
