Oando Plc has announced the resignation of Mr. Tanimu Yakubu as Non-Executive Director of the company.
This was contained in the companyโs notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited seen by NewsNGR.
The resignation, according the statement, was to enable him to undertake a national assignment with the Federal Government of Nigeria.
โOando Plc hereby notifies the shareholders and other stakeholders of the following change on its Board of Directors.
โMr. Tanimu Yakubu has resigned from his position as a Non-Executive Director of Oando Plc to undertake a national assignment with the Federal Government of Nigeria,โ the statement added.
According to the statement signed by the Company Secretary, Ayotola Jagun, Yakubu was appointed to the Board on June 30, 2015.
During his tenure, he served as the Chairman of the Board Audit, Strategic Planning & Finance Committee, and was also a member of the Statutory Audit Committee.
With his extensive experience in finance and strategic planning, Yakubu brought invaluable insights, financial acumen, and a strategic mindset that significantly contributed to the growth and stability of the Company.
His leadership was instrumental in guiding the Company through various financial strategies and audits, ensuring robust governance and compliance.
President Bola Tinubu had approved the appointment of Yakubu as the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, following the expiration of the tenure of Mr. Ben Akabueze.
Yakubu is an accomplished economist and was Chief Economic Adviser to a former President from 2007 to 2010; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria from 2003 to 2007, and Commissioner of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning in Katsina State from 1999 to 2003.
