Euro Leagues: Onyedika sees red with Club Brugge, Ajibade soars with Atletico Madrid

Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika got red carded while on duty in Club Brugge’s 1-1 draw against Charleroi at Stade du Pays de Charleroi, Soccernet.ng reports.

Onyedika has been impressive at Club Brugge this season under the tutelage of NIck Hayen. And on Friday, he returned to the starting eleven for their Jupiler League game against Charleroi.

Onyedika was quite decent, but the first half ended goalless. However, the action started in the second half.

Parfait Guiagon scored the opener for Charleroi in the 48th minute. Then, in the 55th minute, in a bid to win the ball, Onyedika committed a bad foul. Although, the tackle looked like one that deserved a yellow card, the referee deemed it as a tackle that put another player in danger and issued a red card to Onyedika.

Despite going a man down, Club Brugge adjusted well and gave Charleroi a good run for their money. The Belgian champions eventually scored the equalizer just before the end of the game. It then ended 1-1 at Charleroi. Onyedika’s red card means that he’ll miss Club Brugge’s next Jupiler League game against Royale Union SG.

Meanwhile, in Spain, Rasheedat Ajibade continued her impressive started to the season with Atletico Madrid. She scored twice in the previous game against Valencia. And she continued in that form against when Atletico Madrid beat Madrid 4-0 at the Centro Deportivo Wanda Alcala de Henares.

Paolo Ulloa scored an own goal in the 21st minute. Then Ajibade doubled Atletico Madrid’s lead in 51st minute.

An own goal from Emily Assis and Synne Jensen completed the 4-0 win for Atletico Madrid.
