A WEEK-long festivity berths in the heart of Lagos Island from Friday, September 27 through the Independence Day on October 1. at the Freedom Park, the old Colonial prison located on Campbell Street, by Broad Street in the central business district of the city.
Courtesy Kukuruku Inc. in collaboration with Freedom Park Lagos, the event, couched a celebration, under the insignia of Orupeza Festival 2024 @Freedomparklagoss,” is designed to commemorate “Nigeria’s 64th year of independence and the 14th anniversary of Freedom Park’s establishment,” stated Raymond Bola Brown the Project coordinator.
The festivity’s lineup of activities feature cultural showcases, including live music performances, dynamic dance routines, compelling drama presentations, and the spoken word, as well as a variety of exhibitions that highlight the rich tapestry of Nigerian culture and history.
“Freedom Party Week is more than just a celebration; it’s a reflection of our nation’s journey and the continuous strive for liberty and unity. It’s a platform for artists, thinkers, and leaders to express and inspire, fostering a sense of community and national pride,” Bola Brown added.
