Israel Vows Retaliation After Iranian Missile Attack

Israel has pledged to retaliate following a missile attack by Iran on Tuesday, with military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari affirming that Israel will respond at a time and place of its choosing.

โ€œThis attack will have consequences. We have plans, and we will operate at the place and time we decide,โ€ Hagari said in a statement.

The Israeli military reported intercepting a large number of missiles launched by Iran, although there were some impacts in central and southern regions of the country.

โ€œWe have carried out a large number of interceptions. There were a few hits in the centre and other areas in the south of the country,โ€ Hagari added.

In response to the attack, a US defense official stated that American forces are prepared to provide โ€œadditional defensive supportโ€ to Israel, having already assisted in defending against the missile barrage.

Meanwhile, Germany has strongly condemned Iranโ€™s actions, with Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock calling for an immediate end to the assault, warning that it could further escalate tensions in the region.

โ€œIran must stop the attack immediately,โ€ Baerbock urged, stating that the conflict was โ€œleading the region further towards the abyss.โ€
