Pastor Adeboye Apologises For Saying Worshippers Who Don’t Pay Tithe Will Go To Hell

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has apologized for saying any believer who does not pay tithes will not make heaven.

He gave the apology in a viral video seen on Friday by NewsNGR.

The pastor’s apology came while delivering a message at the ongoing annual National Youth Convention of the church at the RCCG Redemption City.

He said, “I am going to be talking to everybody as soon as God permit me, I am going to apologise for making the mistake of saying that if you don’t pay tithe, you will not be making it to heaven. it is wrong, it is not what the bible said. What the Bible said is to make peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see God.”

Recall that on July 2-24, Pastor Adeboye made a statement while preaching that anyone who is not paying tithe will not go to heaven.

He was quoted to have said:

“Anyone who is not paying his tithe is not going to heaven, full stop. I’m going to give every one of you pastors, an opportunity to repent tonight.”

This became a trending conversation online as many reacted to it in their own way.

But while justifying his apology, the pastor explained his motives.

”it is possible to be right and wrong at the same time,” he said, further explaining this by saying,

”For years, we taught that light travels in a straight line. later we say it travels in waves.”

While narrating his experience at one of the conventions of the Ministry of Kenneth Hagin in Tulsa, United States, where a man made a promise to give more than all participants at the convention, the pastor stressed the importance of giving back to God.

He encouraged Christians to always give without being miserly.
