Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Service (HoS) of the Federation, has reintroduced the Federal Civil Service Anthem as part of efforts to drive reforms within the public service.
The unveiling took place during a meet-and-greet event with media executives and journalists in Abuja on Monday.
The newly rebranded civil service anthem was showcased with both audio and video presentations.
According to Walson-Jack, the anthem is designed to inspire civil servants to adopt a culture of efficiency, productivity, incorruptibility, and citizen-centered service, which she described as the “EPIC culture.”
“The anthem has been reintroduced to drive the reforms,” Walson-Jack said. “It is expected that the anthem will be sung by all civil and public servants and indeed Nigerians. It will encourage every public servant to embrace these values, ensuring that we are efficient, productive, incorruptible, and citizen-centered.”
She highlighted that the anthem would serve as a daily reminder for civil servants to exemplify these values in their work.
In her address, Walson-Jack also emphasized her leadership’s commitment to accelerating the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025.
She explained that while the office is continuing to implement this strategy, there is a renewed focus on creativity and innovation to fast-track its execution.
“The six pillars of the ongoing reforms require adequate coverage to ensure swift implementation and that the federal civil service delivers on the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of the government,” she added.
The anthem is expected to be a key part of these reforms, aiming to enhance professionalism and service delivery across the Nigerian civil service.
