The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Kingsley Otti, a club bouncer, for allegedly stabbing a man to death at a lounge on Ago Palace Way in the Okota area.
According to police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident occurred on Monday at approximately 3:30 a.m. during an altercation in the clubโs car park.
โIn the process, [the victim] became unconscious,โ Hundeyin said in a statement on Wednesday. โHe was rescued and rushed to Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Mushin, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.โ
The incident was reported to the Ago-Okota Division at around 11:30 a.m. on the same day by the manager of the club and lounge.
The statement further explained that the victim was a yet-to-be-identified adult male, suspected to be a hoodlum, who was allegedly stabbed by Otti.
Hundeyin confirmed that a team of detectives from the division visited both the scene of the incident and the hospital, where they inspected the corpse and took photographs.
โThe corpse has been removed and deposited at the Mainland General Hospital Morgue, Yaba, for autopsy,โ he added.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
