The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a club bouncer, identified as Kingsley Oti, for allegedly stabbing a suspected hoodlum to death at a lounge on Ago Palace Way in the Okota area of Lagos State.
The commandโs spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed on Wednesday that the incident took place around 3:30 a.m. on Monday.
According to Hundeyin, Oti reportedly stabbed the victim during an altercation in the clubโs car park. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
Hundeyin said: โOn 07/10/24 at about 11.30 hours, the manager of a club and lounge, located at Ago Palace Way, Ago-Okota, reported at Ago-Okota Division that on the same day at about 03.30 hours, a yet to be identified adult male, suspected to be a hoodlum, was allegedly stabbed by the clubโs bouncer, one Kingsley Oti โmโ, during an altercation between them at the clubโs car park.
โIn the process, he became unconscious. He was rescued and rushed to Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Mushin, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.โ
The police spokesperson further stated that a team of detectives visited both the scene and the hospital, where they inspected the corpse and took photographs
โCorpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital Morgue, Yaba for autopsy. Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested, and the investigation is in progress,โ he added.
On Monday, NewsNGR reported that a 48-year-old man, identified as Okafor, died from injuries he sustained after allegedly being stabbed by a female sex worker.
The incident occurred around 5:32 a.m. at the deceasedโs residence in Jakande Housing Estate, located in the Lekki area of Lagos.
It was reported that the suspect, identified as Joy Kelvin, allegedly stabbed Okafor during their time together overnight.
