MOMENTS after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC), led by Acting National Chairman Illiya Damagum, announced the suspension of National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba and National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, Ologunagba issued a separate statement suspending Damagum and the partyโ€™s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.

The NWC initially suspended Ologunagba and Ajibade over allegations of disloyalty and insubordination.

The committee formed a panel, led by Deputy National Chairman (South) Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, to investigate the charges.

Their deputies were appointed to act in their roles during the investigation, with Ibrahim Abdullahi Manga stepping in as Acting National Publicity Secretary and Okechukwu Osuoha as Acting National Legal Adviser.

However, in a twist, Ologunagba, today announced the suspension of Damagum and Anyanwu for their involvement in a letter to the Court of Appeal in a case concerning former Rivers State House of Assembly members who had defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ologunagba accused them of anti-party activities and violating the PDP Constitution. Both officials were suspended from all NWC activities pending a disciplinary investigation.
