Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Libya in a crucial African qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, thanks to Dele Bashiru’s late heroics.
The Lazio midfielder, who came on as a second-half substitute, netted the decisive goal in the 87th minute to give Nigeria a vital home win.
Libya arrived in Uyo determined to frustrate the Super Eagles, aiming for a point by packing their defense and limiting Nigeria’s attacking threats.
