The Lagos State High Court has ordered social media critic, Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), to take down defamatory posts and videos he made about prominent lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, musician Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz. The ruling, delivered by Justice M. O. Idowu, was made under suit number ID/8584/GCM/2024.
The court also instructed that Otse be served through substituted means, specifically via his legal counsel, but no trial or penalties have been imposed at this stage. The court’s order requires Otse to remove the defamatory content from his social media platforms and refrain from posting further defamatory material about the Falanas.
