UK Ready to Discuss Air Peace Slots at Heathrow Airport

The UK aviation authorities have expressed readiness to discuss slot allocation for Nigerian airline, Air Peace, at Heathrow Airport, following a request from Nigeriaโ€™s Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

In early September, Keyamo sent a diplomatic letter requesting landing slots for Air Peace at the UKโ€™s tier-A airport, Heathrow.

UK Secretary of State for Transport, Louise Haigh, responded to the request, stating her department โ€œwould be ready to further discuss this matterโ€ at the โ€œupcoming International Civil Aviation Negotiations event in October 2024.โ€

The discussion follows Nigeriaโ€™s recent warning to deny UK carriers access to Lagos and Abuja airports if Air Peaceโ€™s slot allocation is not addressed.
