Aisha Yesufu, a co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement, recently referred to Nigerian musician Seun Kuti as a reflection of Fela’s lack of discipline.
Her comments were in response to Seun’s recent criticism of her advocacy for women’s rights in Nigeria.
The singer had previously challenged Yesufu’s stance, remarking that she should “liberate (herself) from (her) Hijab first.”
In response, Yesufu posted a series of replies on her X account, stating, “Seun Kuti wants to trend with my name as his karaoke business no make him blow alongside those wey dey do music.
“I don’t blame him! If only his father had discipline over his loin we wouldn’t be dealing with the consequences of that lack of discipline!
“Person wey people dey book im show because dem wan see a caricature of his father even if they can’t have the real thing.”
Seun is the youngest child of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
