‘I Had 20 Boyfriends’: Regina Daniels Opens Up on Marriage to Ned Nwoko

Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has revealed that her family, including her mother, was initially against her marriage to politician Ned Nwoko, despite claims that she was forced into the union.

The actress, who married Nwoko in 2019, set the record straight during a candid TikTok live session, shedding light on her love life and how she ultimately made her own choice.

Daniels shared that at the time of her relationship with Nwoko, she had “over 20 boyfriends,” each fulfilling different purposes, and expressed how her life was filled with suitors.

“I was so angry I had to go sightseeing with everyone but we got there and I met a cute man,” she said, referring to the day she first met Nwoko.

In a playful yet bold statement, Daniels advised her followers that having a boyfriend shouldn’t stop them from finding their future husband.

“When I started with my husband, I forgot I was supposed to have a boyfriend,” she admitted.

The young actress made it clear that her decision to marry Nwoko was entirely hers.

“When people think I didn’t have a choice or that my mum forced me to marry my husband, they don’t know the full story. Not knowing that my mummy and my full family were against the marriage,” Daniels clarified.

Regina Daniels, who began acting at the age of seven with her mother’s support, has since become a household name in Nollywood, starring in movies like Plantain Girl, The Jericho, and Naked Sacrifice. Her marriage to Nwoko, a senator representing Delta North, has consistently made headlines, with the couple now proud parents of two sons.

Her confession adds a fresh twist to the public perception of her relationship with Nwoko, reaffirming that behind the glamour and controversy, it was a love story shaped by her own choices.
