THE Presidency has postponed the screening of seven ministerial nominees to allow them to complete all necessary documentation and pre-screening procedures.
The screening which was originally scheduled for today, has now been rescheduled to tomorrow at noon.
This information was shared in a statement today by Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Senate Matters.
Recall that last Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu dismissed five ministers, reassigned ten to new portfolios, and appointed seven new ministers awaiting Senate confirmation.
Among the nominees, Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu has been proposed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Nentawe Yilwatda has been nominated as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, officially marking the end of suspended Minister Betta Edu’s term.
Additionally, the President nominated Maigari Dingyadi for Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole for Minister of Industry, Idi Maiha for the newly established Livestock Development Ministry, Yusuf Ata for Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad for Minister of State for Education.
The Senate, led by President Godswill Akpabio, is expected to screen the seven nominees tomorrow.
