The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in 13 chairmanship positions across Nasarawa State’s local government areas in a recently concluded elections.
The results were declared by the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), Barr. Ayuba Usman, at the Commission’s headquarters in Lafia, the state capital, on Sunday evening.
The November 2 election spanned across 13 local government areas and 147 electoral wards. The APC claimed the chairmanship seats in all 13 local governments, while it also dominated the councillorship seats, winning 140 of the 147 wards.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) secured five wards, while the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) won two wards.

Barr. Usman praised the peaceful conduct of the election and expressed gratitude to voters for their dedication to strengthening democracy at the grassroots.
He emphasized that the success of the election was a result of significant stakeholder engagement, including the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and security agencies, which contributed to the orderly conduct of the electoral process.
He noted that the election reflected a high level of confidence in the electoral process, citing the participation of 14 political parties. The use of technology, he said, further streamlined the process, ensuring efficiency and transparency.
The ZLP won its two councillorship seats in Doma LGA, while the SDP secured four in Nasarawa-Eggon and one in Keffi LGA. Barr. Usman reaffirmed NASIEC’s commitment to upholding democratic values and ensuring fair and credible election outcomes.
