The track recently made history by becoming the first Afrobeats song to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube.
As of 9th of November , 2024, a recent check confirmed that the music video, which was uploaded on Gomez’s YouTube channel two years ago, has crossed the billion-view mark, establishing it as the first Nigerian song to achieve such a feat.
Remarkably, “Calm Down Remix” is also the quickest African song to reach 1 billion views on YouTube, accomplishing this in just two years.
The song’s original version has also garnered impressive viewership, with over 619 million views on the platform.
Last August, “Calm Down Remix” made headlines as the first African song to reach a billion streams on Spotify, and it now boasts over 1.5 billion streams on the platform.
