At least three people lost their lives on Monday when a truck suffered brake failure and crashed into Ayetoro Market in Lagos.
The bodies of the victims have been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital.
It was that the truck was descending from Ita-Opo when it lost control, striking a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before ramming into the Ayetoro Complex.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a post on its X handle, adding that traffic has been diverted in the area to ease movement.

“A fatal accident occurred due to a brake failure of a Truck descending from Ita-Opo and hit a commercial Tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry, then also rammed into the Ayetoro Market/Complex,” the post stated.
“3 lives were lost and they’ve been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital while we have a Tow truck on the ground to evacuate the affected vehicles.
“Traffic has been diverted for easy vehicular movement,” it added.
