GOVERNOR Lucky Aiyedatiwa has described his recent victory in the governorship election as a mandate to do more for the people of Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa won the election, which concluded yesterday, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Ajayi Agboola in a largely peaceful process.
In a statement to reporters after being declared the winner, the Ondo governor pledged to bring better days to the residents of the South-West state.
According to him, having campaigned extensively across all corners of the state, he feels more connected to the needs of the people.
The APC candidate secured victory in all 18 local government areas, amassing 248,000 votes more than his nearest competitor.
โThe people can expect improved services, which is what they have been looking for because I campaigned throughout every local government area,โ he stated.
โI am the only candidate who visited all the local communities, not just the capital. During our visits, we observed the condition of the roads and the overall living environment. We listened to the voices of the residents, read their messages, and engaged with their questions and aspirations.
โThey believe their hope lies with me. They trust that we will deliver on our promises and will not make commitments we cannot fulfill. We aim to achieve all we have pledged within the limitations of our available resources.โ
