President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently hosting the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, at the State House in Abuja.

Modi, who arrived at Abuja Saturday night, was received at Forecourt of the State House by the President at about 10:20 am.

On arrival, Modi was welcomed with the Indian Anthem, Guard of Honour by Brigade of Guards, after which the Nigerian Anthem was rendered.

A 21-gun salute followed the inspection of the mounted Guard of Honour.

The two leaders are expected to spearhead a number of bilateral activities, some delegation-level talks and exchange of memoranda of understanding (MoU).

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Saturday that the two leaders would strengthen the Nigerian-Indian ties during the visit.

โ€œPresident Tinubu and Prime Minister Modi will seek to strengthen Nigeriaโ€™s and Indiaโ€™s ties further during their bilateral discussions.
โ€œBoth leaders will exchange signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to enhance collaboration in critical sectors,โ€ he said.
