“Wonderful performance” – Ruud van Nistelrooy singles out Leicester star for praise after West Ham win

Leicester City ended their winless streak in style with an emphatic 3-1 triumph over West Ham United at the King Power Stadium, Soccernet.football reports.

The Foxes delivered a commanding all-round performance, inspired by the brilliance of Moroccan playmaker Bilal El Khannouss.

The match began explosively, with Jamie Vardy finding the net inside two minutes after a well-timed run and clinical finish past Lukasz Fabianski.

Despite Leicester’s bright start, West Ham responded with resilience, creating several chances and pressing hard for an equaliser.

However, the visitors were unfortunate to go into the break still trailing.

In the second half, Leicester raised their intensity, and it was El Khannouss who stole the spotlight.

Signed for £21 million from Genk during the summer, the 20-year-old showcased his immense potential with a goal and an assist that underpinned the Foxes’ resurgence.

His dynamic presence in midfield was crucial in driving Leicester forward and breaking down West Ham’s resistance.

Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy was full of praise for El Khannouss during his post-match press conference.

“We created some chances from defending in a compact block with winning the ball and counterattacks with players that make the runs in behind,” said the former Manchester United striker as per the BBC. “And I think El Khannouss, today, with an assist and a goal, had a wonderful performance.”

El Khannouss, speaking after the match, reflected on achieving a lifelong ambition.

“Of course, when you’re young, you are dreaming of playing in the biggest league, and that’s the Premier League,” he told reporters.

“Today, I fulfilled my dream to score in the Premier League and to assist, but like I always say, it’s only the beginning of a long story.”

Leicester now face Brighton on Sunday, with El Khannouss looking to build on this standout performance.
