The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), has issued a stern warning against bribery and compromise in the ongoing 2024 Post-JAMB admission screening into the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.
Argungu, during a supervisory visit to the academy, stated that any candidate caught attempting to influence the process with money or unethical practices would face immediate disqualification.
“Any candidate negotiating to pay money for consideration should be weeded out. The process must run on merit and transparency,” he emphasised.
This statement was part of a release on Wednesday by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani, who highlighted Argungu’s commitment to ensuring the admission exercise is conducted with fairness, equity, and integrity.
During his visit, Argungu inspected key facilities at the academy, including the Moot Court, Clinic, Library, Lecture Theatres, and screening centres.
He also addressed complaints about malfunctioning computers and directed their immediate repair to prevent disruptions in the exercise.
Argungu commended the academy’s commandant, AIG Abubakar Sadiq, for implementing innovative measures like computer-based testing.
He praised the transparent system, which allows candidates to view their results immediately after submission, promoting accountability in the process.
The PSC chairman reiterated that the commission is dedicated to ensuring that merit and transparency remain the guiding principles of the academy’s admission process.
