Finnish authorities have tightened the noose on Simon Ekpa, the controversial self-proclaimed Biafran agitator, by freezing his assets amidst allegations of terrorism-related activities.
Ekpa, who has already spent weeks in custody, finds himself entangled in a deepening legal quagmire.
According to reports, the Finnish government has extended its crackdown to include the freezing of assets linked to companies associated with Ekpa and four alleged accomplices, all currently held in remand.
This development was corroborated by the Finnish newspaper Yle, which disclosed that Ekpa is detained in Kylmäkoski Vankila, a high-security prison infamous for its strict regime and reputation as one of the toughest in the world.
Nestled in Vanhamaantie, Akaa, Finland, Kylmäkoski Prison is a fortress of unyielding control.
As Finnish authorities show no signs of relenting, it appears Ekpa’s festive season will be far from celebratory, as he faces the stark reality of spending Christmas and New Year behind bars.
