Nollywood veteran Rita Edochie has expressed her frustration over the recurring death rumours surrounding her colleague, Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw.

Edochie lamented that she had recently encountered these false rumours about Pawpawโ€™s death twice. She noted that some fans surprisingly believed the fake news and expressed their condolences in the comment section.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Edochie voiced her concern about the excessive number of death rumours concerning actors. She highlighted that similar false information had been spread about her as well, revealing that a photo of her on a movie set was misused to promote this misinformation.

She wrote, โ€œThis rumour has come up before. A couple of days ago, it resurfaced for the second time. Pictures of my dear son and veteran colleague, Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw, trended everywhere on social media with captions claiming he was dead. Itโ€™s shocking that some netizens believed this fake news and began posting โ€˜RIPโ€™ comments.
โ€œI have said it before, and Iโ€™m saying it again: social media has done more harm than good to society. While it has provided opportunities for many Nigerian youths, the abuse of it is getting out of hand.โ€
