Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s government harbours a more sophisticated and dangerous cabal than the one that existed under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking during an interview with journalist Seun Okinbaloye on the Mic On podcast, Dalung described the cabal as a group of highly informed and experienced individuals who have hijacked governance.
“Cabal exists in Nigeria’s presidency till today. Tinubu has the most sophisticated cabal, worse than Buhari,” Dalung stated.
He contrasted Tinubu’s cabal with Buhari’s, describing the latter as “a group of uninformed people with little experience,” focused on self-interest.
In contrast, he characterised Tinubu’s cabal as “a sophisticated group of people who have been long in power, they know power, and they are also informed. So they are more dangerous than any other cabal that I’ve ever known and seen.”
Dalung explained that such cabals operate by shielding the president from realities, controlling information, and blocking access to those trying to inform him.
He cited his experience in Buhari’s administration, where information he provided on insecurity was allegedly withheld by those in positions of power.
The former minister also dismissed fears of retaliation over his remarks, revealing he had survived ten assassination attempts.
“I am not afraid of death,” Dalung said. “I believe I will die only when my time comes.”
