UEFA Doubles Women’s Euro 2025 Prize Money to €41 Million

UEFA has approved a record €41 million in prize money for the Women’s Euro 2025 tournament, marking a significant increase from the previous edition, European football’s governing body announced on Monday.

The prize pool for next summer’s tournament in Switzerland represents a 156% rise compared to the €16 million allocated for the 2022 edition in England, and a fivefold jump since Euro 2017.

The winning team stands to earn up to €5.1 million — a substantial increase from the €2.085 million that England claimed as champions in 2022.

Each of the 16 participating teams will receive a minimum of €1.8 million for their involvement.

UEFA revealed that 70% of the total prize fund will be distributed to the competing teams, with a directive that “between 30 and 40%” of each allocation be paid to the players.

In the group stage, teams will receive €50,000 for a draw and €100,000 for a win.

Teams advancing to the knockout rounds will earn increasing amounts: €550,000 for reaching the quarter-finals, €700,000 for the semi-finals, and €850,000 for the final.

This decision aligns with UEFA’s broader strategy to develop women’s football.

The body reiterated its October commitment to invest €1 billion in the women’s game by 2030, focusing on grassroots programs, professional standards, and improving stadium attendance.

The Women’s Euro 2025 will take place in Switzerland from July 2-27, showcasing 16 of Europe’s top national teams in what is expected to be a historic tournament for women’s football.
