Ebonyi Govt Approves N5bn for Workers’ Housing Project

The Ebonyi State Government has approved over N5 billion for the construction of 126 housing units for its workers.

The approval was made during the State Executive Council meeting on Tuesday in Abakaliki, as disclosed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Jude Okpor.

According to Mr. Okpor, the council approved a unit cost of N40 million for each of the 126 housing units, totaling an estimated N5,000,000,040 for the project.

He revealed that the construction would be carried out through direct labor, ensuring efficiency in execution.

In addition to the housing project, the council also approved the engagement of three revenue firms aimed at boosting the state’s revenue generation.

This decision follows a careful review of proposals requesting approval for the appointment of revenue and financial consultants.

The engagement of these firms is expected to strengthen the state’s financial capacity.

The initiatives demonstrate the state government’s commitment to improving the welfare of its workers and enhancing revenue mobilization for future developmental projects.
