In a move to ease transportation costs and financial burdens during the festive season, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of its premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to ₦899.50 per litre.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, revealed the development in a statement on Thursday, emphasizing the refinery’s commitment to providing Nigerians with relief during the holiday season.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) product to below ₦900 per litre to provide much-needed relief for Nigerians ahead of the holiday season,” Chiejina stated.
This latest reduction follows a previous adjustment to ₦970 per litre on November 24.
The move is aimed at addressing transportation costs, which typically spike during the end-of-year celebrations, and is part of the refinery’s broader efforts to support Nigerians.
In addition to the price cut, Dangote Refinery has introduced a unique consumer incentive.
Customers who purchase petrol with cash will have the opportunity to buy an additional litre on credit, supported by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS.
From today, our petrol will be available at ₦899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility,” Chiejina added.
Chiejina reiterated the refinery’s dedication to providing Nigerians with high-quality petroleum products at competitive prices while ensuring they meet environmental and engine-friendly standards.
He highlighted the refinery’s role in transforming the Nigerian petroleum market by eliminating the need for low-quality imported fuel products, which have posed risks to health, machinery, and the environment.
This reduction and the accompanying consumer-focused measures underscore Dangote Refinery’s commitment to alleviating the financial pressures on Nigerians while setting new benchmarks for service delivery and product quality.
As the holiday season approaches, this announcement is expected to provide significant relief to consumers, further solidifying Dangote Refinery’s position as a leader in Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
