JUSTICE Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the detention of four suspected terrorists linked to notorious bandit leader Bello Turji at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
The ruling followed the defendants’ plea of not guilty to an 11-count charge related to terrorism.
Justice Nwite subsequently adjourned the case to February 10 for trial.
The accused individuals—Musa Kamarawa, Abubakar Hashimu (also known as Doctor), Samuel Chinedu, and Lucky Chukwuma—denied all charges when the allegations were read to them.
Recall that although eight individuals were named in the charges, three, including Bello Turji, remain at large.
The Federal Government, represented by the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, filed the charges against the eight defendants.
The suspects are accused of aiding terrorist groups by providing illicit drugs, such as penta injections and cannabis, as well as food supplies, military and police uniforms, and camouflage.
