Prince Edwin Ochai Odojo K’Agila, founder and CEO of the Idoma International Carnival, on Thursday visited the palace of Och’Otukpo Odu, His Royal Highness Dr. John Onuminya Eimonye, to pay his Christmas homage.
Prince Ochai and his team are currently in Otukpo, the ancestral headquarters of Idoma land, for the 12th edition of the annual Idoma International Carnival.
The visit provided an opportunity for both leaders to exchange warm pleasantries and discuss plans for fostering development and harmony in the community in the coming year.
During the occasion, Prince Ochai expressed profound gratitude to the monarch for his exemplary leadership and wisdom in guiding the people of Otukpo and its environs.
“Your Royal Highness, your wisdom and guidance have been a source of strength for our community. It is always a privilege to pay homage to a leader who exemplifies dignity and unity,” Prince Ochai said.
He also lauded HRH Dr. Eimonye for his unwavering support for the Idoma International Carnival.
“The Idoma International Carnival is a reflection of the pride we take in our heritage. Your royal support and prayers have been instrumental in its success. Together, we celebrate the beauty and rhythm of our heritage,” he added.
In his response, HRH Dr. John Onuminya Eimonye expressed deep appreciation for Prince Ochai’s efforts in promoting the Idoma identity through the globally recognized Idoma International Carnival.
“Prince Ochai, your efforts have not only revitalized our cultural heritage but have also placed the Idoma people on the global stage. The Idoma International Carnival is a legacy we all cherish,” the royal said.
He commended the visionary leadership of Prince Ochai and acknowledged the significance of the annual carnival in reinforcing a sense of pride and unity among the Idoma people.
“Your contributions have given our people a sense of pride and belonging, reminding us all of the beauty of our heritage and the strength of our community,” HRH Dr. Eimonye stated.
The monarch further urged other stakeholders in the community to emulate Prince Ochai’s commitment to the Idoma cause and pledged his continued support for initiatives that promote cultural preservation and community advancement.
