SOME officers from the Ogun State Police Command have been arrested for allegedly soliciting money from the family of a missing girl before proceeding with the case.
The Public Relations Officer for the Nigeria Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, shared this information today in a post on X.com.
He confirmed that the officers are currently in custody.
In his post, he mentioned: โRegarding the missing girl in Otta: The police officers who requested money before addressing the case have been arrested and are now facing disciplinary action.
Adejobi also reiterated the commandโs dedication to finding the missing girl and assured the public that she would be located soon.
โThe Ogun State Police Command is actively investigating the case. We will find the girl as quickly as possible. We also encourage the victimโs family to work closely with the police,โ he stated.
Earlier, Adejobi had cautioned officers against misusing Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokunโs name for fraudulent purposes and urged the public to report such incidents.
