Fubara Clarifies Assembly Leadership, Signs N1.1trn 2025 Budget

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed speculations of division within the state legislature, asserting that the state recognizes only one House of Assembly under the leadership of Right Honourable Victor Oko-Jombo.

Speaking firmly on the matter, Fubara said, โ€œWe have only one assembly, and that assembly is headed by Right Honourable Victor Oko-Jombo. So long as Iโ€™m concerned, we have moved on.โ€

The governorโ€™s remarks come amid a climate of political speculation, signaling his administrationโ€™s commitment to stability and continuity in governance.

In a significant development, Governor Fubara also signed into law the 2025 Rivers State Appropriation Bill, aptly tagged the โ€œBudget of Inclusive Growth & Development.โ€

The budget, valued at an estimated N1.1 trillion, marks a pivotal step in the administrationโ€™s agenda for statewide development.

Expressing gratitude to the Rivers State House of Assembly for their diligence, Fubara highlighted the collaborative efforts of his executive team in shaping the ambitious budget.

โ€œToday, I signed into law the 2025 Rivers State Appropriation Bill. Tagged โ€˜Budget of Inclusive Growth & Development,โ€™ the bill is estimated at N1.1 trillion,โ€ he said.

โ€œI deeply appreciate the Rivers State House of Assembly for their diligence and my executives for their unwavering commitment to service.โ€

The governor emphasized key focus areas for the budget, including education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, positioning the state for a year of prosperity and growth.

โ€œTogether, we are setting the pace for a prosperous year ahead, focusing on education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure,โ€ he added.

Concluding his address, Fubara extended New Year wishes to Rivers State residents, pledging continued efforts to elevate the state.

โ€œLet me, on this note, thank everyone and once again wish you a happy and prosperous New Year ahead as we continue the journey of making Rivers State great again,โ€ the governor said.
