A Catholic priest has allegedly shot and killed a boy in Imo State.
The incident reportedly occurred at St. Columbus Catholic Church in the Amaimo community, Ikeduru Local Government Area.
Although the victim’s identity is yet to be confirmed, the boy was reportedly shot after throwing knockouts into the church premises during a New Year Mass on January 1, 2025.
The event has plunged the community into shock and chaos, with many condemning the priest’s actions and demanding a thorough investigation and his arrest.
The Imo State Police Command confirmed the incident today.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, stated that an investigation is underway to establish the facts and updates on the case will be provided in due course.
