STAND-IN Super Eagles B head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has invited 26 players to prepare for the upcoming 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The players called up include captain Nduka Junior, goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena, defenders Sadiq Ismail and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, midfielder Saviour Isaac, and forward Sikiru Alimi.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation today, the players are to begin closed camping at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo in Ogun State on Monday.
The tournament, reserved for players featuring in their domestic leagues, is scheduled for February 1 to February 28 in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, defenders Imo Obot and Stephen Manyo, midfielders Musa Zayyad, Rabiu Ali and Papa Daniel Mustapha, and forwards Adamu Abubakar and Emmanuel Ogbole have also been invited to the training camp by Ogunmodede, who is also Remo Stars head coach.
The Super Eagles B, for the first time ever in the qualification series, got the better of Ghana’s Black Galaxies to qualify for the tournament, after a 3-1 win in Uyo last week that followed a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Accra six days earlier.
The eighth edition of CHAN will feature 18 countries: joint-hosts Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, Nigeria, Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Niger Republic, Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Angola and Madagascar.
