The senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has stated that it is premature to delve into discussions about the 2027 governorship race in Ogun State.
Speaking at a New Year Thanksgiving event held in Ilaro, Ogun West, on Saturday, Adeola emphasized that his current focus is on delivering empowerment and development projects to his constituency. He dismissed speculation about his gubernatorial ambitions, stressing that his priority remains serving his constituents effectively.
“It’s not time for that now,” he said. “We are still focused on bringing more dividends of democracy to our people.”
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Adeola assured his constituents of improved representation and empowerment initiatives in 2025. He highlighted that the ongoing Renewed Hope Agenda reforms are beginning to yield positive outcomes, promising that the new year would bring greater economic opportunities for Ogun West and Nigeria at large.
Reflecting on his achievements in 2024, Adeola expressed gratitude for the progress made across his senatorial district.
“It has been a fantastic year for me, my family, and my constituents. We’ve seen significant development and empowerment initiatives across Ogun West, and 2025 will be even more exciting,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to attracting developmental projects and creating employment opportunities for his people.
“Our people should expect the best. We’ve started well, and there’s no room to stop. In 2025, we aim to bring even more projects that will benefit every corner of Ogun West,” he added.
Adeola also extended his gratitude to supporters from across the state who share his vision for development and progress.
“I have friends and well-wishers across the state who believe in celebrating and working together for the good of our people,” he noted.
The senator concluded with optimism for the new year, saying, “We are hopeful that 2025 will bring sustainable and better socioeconomic circumstances for Nigerians. With the ongoing reforms, a brighter future awaits us all.”
