Terrorists Kill Miyetti Allah Chairman, Abduct Family

Kehinde Fajobi

Suspected terrorists have killed Alhaji Amadu Surajo, Acting Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Katsina State, in an attack on Mai Rana village, Kusada Local Government Area, late Saturday night.

The assailants also killed three others, injured several people, and abducted Surajoโ€™s first and second wives, along with one of his daughters, a university undergraduate. Reports indicate the first wife was later released.

Surajo had been elevated to Acting Chairman following the disappearance of the associationโ€™s former Chairman, Munnir Lamido, in June 2023.

The attack occurred in a part of Katsina State not typically known for such violence, raising questions about its motives. Security operatives have since been deployed to restore order and investigate the incident.

The deceased are to be buried in line with Islamic rites, while the injured receive medical care.
