Tola Odeyemi New NIPOST Boss

NIPOST To Support Small Businesses In E-commerce Sector

With the rapid expansion of the e-commerce sector in Nigeria, the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has announced its commitment to supporting small businesses and individuals in the industry through enhanced postal and logistics services.

The Postmaster-General and Chief Executive Officer of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, made this known on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House, Marina.

Odeyemi highlighted NIPOSTโ€™s readiness to collaborate with the Lagos State Government to drive innovation, boost economic development, and improve public service delivery.

She emphasized that such a partnership would enable NIPOST to optimize last-mile delivery and enhance seamless connectivity within Lagos and across the nation.

โ€œI commend your administration for the remarkable strides in governance and infrastructure development, which have made Lagos State a centre of excellence and a beacon of progress in our nation,โ€ Odeyemi said.

โ€œAs the Postmaster-General, one of my primary goals is to foster strategic partnerships that will enhance the efficiency and relevance of NIPOSTโ€™s services in a rapidly evolving world.

โ€œI see Lagos State as a critical partner in achieving this vision, given its status as the economic hub of Nigeria.

โ€œThe e-commerce sector is rapidly expanding, and Lagos is at the forefront of this growth.

โ€œThrough enhanced postal and logistics services, we aim to support small businesses and individuals participating in e-commerce.

โ€œA partnership with Lagos State will enable us to optimise last-mile delivery and ensure seamless connectivity within the city and across the nation,โ€ she added.

In his remarks, Sanwo-Olu encouraged the NIPOST boss to embrace innovative strategies and challenge the status quo for sustainable improvements.

He also stressed the importance of leveraging technology to enhance the ease of doing business in Lagos and across Nigeria.

โ€œYou and your team need to think outside of the box and make a difference and revamp NIPOST. Donโ€™t be shy about challenging the status quo.

โ€œDonโ€™t be shy about saying you want to change that you met because the people who created those things several years ago did what was obtainable then.

โ€œIf you want an organisation that will meet todayโ€™s and future needs, change is a reality,โ€ Sanwo-Olu advised the Postmaster-General.
