The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Fatimah Odeale for allegedly injuring a 10-year-old boy, Olasunkanmi Oluwadamilare, with a razor blade.

Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, revealing that the incident was reported by Moses Olagbegi, the coordinator of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Abeokuta.

Olagbegi, accompanied by the injured boy, who is a student at Dinamis Private School in the Araromi area of Obada Oko, reported the case at the police station. The boy had severe cuts on his hand.

โ€œWhen questioned, the boy revealed that his guardian, Odeale, residing in the housing area of Obada Oko, had inflicted the injuries as punishment,โ€ Odutola said.

She further explained that Odeale admitted to using a razor blade to punish the child, accusing him of stealing โ‚ฆ600 to buy ice cream for his friends.

The state police commissioner, Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered a swift investigation into the matter, condemning the act as a clear case of child abuse.

The police have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring justice and protecting children from harm.
