BREAKING: Court Dismisses Suit Against Tinubu’s NDDC Appointments

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a suit challenging appointments into the leadership of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Justice James Omotosho in a judgement, on Tuesday, dismissed the suit for lack of merit.

The suit was instituted by Hon Ajoku Philip and Chief Jones Omereoha and Incorporated Trustees of Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International, on behalf of themselves and indigenes of oil producing communities in Imo State,

The plaintiffs challenged the appointment of Dr Samuel Ogbuku as Director-General, as well as Mr. Bona Iyaye, and Mr. Victor Antai as Executive Directors of the NDDC on the grounds that their appointments were in violation of the NDDC Act.

The suit marked; FHC/ABJ/CS/1374/2023 had President Tinubu, the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), the National Assembly and the NDDC as 1st to 4th defendants.
