Iwobi Scores Brace, But Fulham Falls 3-2 to West Ham

Alex Iwobi was in dazzling form on Tuesday night, scoring twice for Fulham in a dramatic 3-2 loss to West Ham United at London Stadium.

The Nigerian international’s brace brought his season tally to 10 goal contributions, but it wasn’t enough to prevent his side from slipping to defeat.

West Ham took control early in the match. A well-timed strike from Carlos Soler in the 31st minute put the visitors ahead.

Just two minutes later, Tomas Soucek doubled their lead with another well taken strike, making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute.

Fulham responded after the break, with Iwobi breathing life into the game. In the 51st minute, a brito reduce the deficit to 2-1, reigniting hopes for a comeback.

However, the Hammers responded in kind, as Lucas Paquetá capitalized on a goalkeeper’s error to score West Ham’s third in the 67th minute, making it 3-1.

Despite the setback, Iwobi wasn’t done yet. The 78th minute saw him net his second goal of the night, a brilliant cross in the net that brought Fulham back within one.

However, Fulham could not find an equalizer, and the match ended with a 3-2 victory for West Ham.

Iwobi’s brace brings his season’s total to an impressive 10 goal contributions, making him one of Fulham’s standout performers this season.
