Panic as Max Air Plane Bursts Tyre on Landing at Kano Airport

A Max Air aircraft, with the registration number 5N-MBD and carrying 53 passengers, suffered a tyre burst late Tuesday night at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

According to a passenger, the incident occurred upon landing at 10:57 p.m.

The aircraft had earlier departed from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos en route to Kano.

Fortunately, all passengers on board were safely evacuated, with no reported injuries.

Preliminary information suggests that the aircraft may have lost its nose landing gear tyre upon touchdown, leading to the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, efforts to reach airline officials for comments were unsuccessful. Similarly, attempts to contact the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) yielded no response, as calls and text messages to the agency’s spokesperson went unanswered.
