African Creators Summit spotlights fashion, creativity
The second edition of the African Creators Summit (2025) was a dazzling fusion of creative content, fashion and innovation.
Held at the Balmoral Event Centre on Victoria Island, Lagos, with over 1,500 attendees, the summit, themed, ‘Building a Sustainable Ecosystem: Content as a Tool’, brought together content creators, industry leaders and creative entrepreneurs from across Africa to explore the power of storytelling and digital influence.
The event, powered by the Apollo Creators Foundation, was hosted by Nedu and Real Warri Pikin, with key figures in attendance, including the Special Assistant on Art, Culture and Creative Economy to the President, Ayo Adeagbo; the President of Woodhall Capital Foundation, Mojisola Hunponu-Wusu; and comedian, Bovi.
The summit also featured thought-provoking panel discussions with speakers like Aproko Doctor, Geena Foodies and Spice, Efenomen Ikhuoria Okoijie, and The Visual Advocate.
Another compelling discussion featured Dr. Foy, Daddy Freeze, Daniel Ikuenobe and Malik Afegbua, who examined the responsibility of creators in shaping narratives.
A communications and public relations professional, and talent manager, Olufemi Oguntamu; as well as Solafunmi Laelle, Nosa Omoregie and Tobi Alabi also shared strategies on leveraging analytics, management and structure to build sustainable brands.
This was even as Fari Elsysia, Ariyike Akinbobola, Nkubi and Emmanuela, harped on the importance of amplifying diverse voices in the industry.
Meanwhile, one of the summit’s most talked-about moments was the collaborative fashion show, curated by Latasha Lagos.
The runway featured top digital creators transformed into high-fashion models, donning pieces from renowned Nigerian designers. Brainjotter stepped out in a sleek ensemble by Uche Nnaji, Kiekie stunned in a bold red and black creation from Moofa Studio, Lasisi Elenu commanded attention in a regal On Point Clothing NG traditional outfit, while Ghanaian comedian, Waris, radiated elegance in Vav Definition’s custom design; while Layi Wasabi closed the show with an attention-grabbing look by I.N Official.
