Tinubu Appoints Ganduje’s Daughter as Director in North-West Development Commission

The National Assembly has nominated 11 individuals, including Asiya Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, daughter of the current National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as directors of the newly established North-West Development Commission.

A letter signed by Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate, addressed to President Bola Tinubu, confirmed the nominations.

Asiya Ganduje has been nominated as the Director of Community and Rural Development, while the son of Senator Aliyu Wamakko, former Governor of Sokoto State, has been selected to lead the Planning, Research, Statistics, and Management Information System Department in the commission.

Other nominees include Khalil Bako for Administration and Human Resources, Mustapha Ahmed Ibrahim for Environmental Protection and Control, Utilities, and Infrastructural Development, Sanusi Bala Turaki for Finance and Supply, and Muhammed Kabir Sani for Legal Services.

Additionally, Malik Anas has been nominated for Solid Minerals and Agriculture, Alhasan Sidi Suleiman for Commercial and Industrial Development, Ahmed Mohammed for Project Monitoring and Supervision, and Garba Aminu for Youth and Women Affairs Development.

The letter, titled “Joint Proposal of the Speaker and the Deputy President of the Senate for Those to Serve as Directors of Departments of the North-West Development Commission,” states: “Below are the names jointly proposed to Your Excellency for approval as Directors of Departments of the North-West Development Commission.”

It further expresses appreciation to President Tinubu, stating: “On behalf of the good people of North-West Nigeria, we thank Your Excellency for the establishment of this commission. May Allah reward Your Excellency for your consistent love for the people of the North-West zone. May Allah continue to guide and protect Your Excellency as you strive to lead our nation to prosperity.”
