A 41-year-old Nigerian woman, Ada Ozor, has candidly discussed her difficulties in finding a husband, revealing that her previous choices have contributed to her current state of being single and dissatisfied.

In a recent conversation with content creator Lucky Udu, Ada recounted her experiences in relationships and how her perspective on marriage has changed over time.

Looking back on her younger years, Ada acknowledged that her primary focus was on financial security when evaluating potential partners. She disclosed that she declined a marriage proposal from a suitor in her 20s due to his status as an apprentice and his lack of financial stability.

“In my 20s, I wanted a man that had money, I am sorry to say this. I just have to be honest about it. I needed someone who could take care of me, provide my needs, and support my family,” she said.

Ada noted that the apprentice she was involved with at the time had proposed marriage, promising that he would achieve financial stability in the future. Nevertheless, she chose to reject his proposal, preferring to wait for a more affluent partner.

“My mum always told me that marriage is not a relationship—you have to be ready before going into it. So, I decided to wait and understand marriage before committing,” she explained.

“When I got to my 30s, I thought, ‘Ha, I need to settle down now.’ But then I started struggling. There was no suitor. Every man that approached me would say he wanted to marry me, but after some time, they would disappear or disappoint me,” she lamented.

She reflected on her longest relationship during that time, which spanned three years with a man residing in Qatar. Regrettably, despite their shared experiences, the relationship did not culminate in marriage.
