Kano gov swears in new SSG
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Monday, swore in the newly appointed Secretary to the Kano State Government, Umar Ibrahim.
Ibrahim replaces Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, who was relieved of his appointment due to health reasons.
The low-key ceremony, held at the governor’s office, was led by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Kano State, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi.
It should be recalled that Kano State had been operating without a substantive SSG until the swearing-in of Umar Farouk Ibrahim.
Receiving the SSG on behalf of the Cabinet Office community, the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs Directorate, Umar Jalo, expressed delight over the appointment, describing Ibrahim’s selection as a welcome and highly befitting development.
A press statement issued by the Information Officer of the Cabinet Office, Musa Muhammad, stated that the new SSG was well-versed in his responsibilities and expressed optimism that Kano State was set for a positive transformation, ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
In a related development, members of the Payroll Standing Committee, led by their Deputy Chairman, Abdulmalik Rogo, paid a solidarity visit to the newly appointed SSG.
Rogo explained that the committee members had taken the lead in celebrating the SSG and pledged their prayers for his success in his new role.
Expressing his appreciation for the visit, the SSG stated that he had made a personal commitment to the state governor to put in his best efforts in serving Kano State.
He added, “Anybody or any group with meaningful ideas to further develop our dear state is welcome. That is why I assure you that I will maintain an open-door policy, which has been my approach since my time as an active civil servant.”
He concluded, “I am profoundly grateful to Almighty Allah, and I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for placing his trust in me to serve the state in this capacity. I promise not to disappoint him.”
